I have created a thematic grid from water well test points. Now I need to
know the average grid value at each parcel.
Note to MapInfo Corp.: Please make the MIG readable to a query. This would
be a welcome, useful, and sales-enhancing feature.
I have still to explore IDRISI, VM, and Jakob Lanstorp's R2V, from a thread
in September, but want first to test a few ideas.
1. Is it possible to read out from the MIG? Is the format a MapInfo
secret? If I keep banging at it with "File Open...", might I figure it out?
2. I can see a grid cell's value by hitting it with the i-tool. Can the
i-tool be programmed to hit the map at each parcel's centroid, and capture the
value into a table?
