I checked the archives and followed the advice, but still ended up with the
same problem.  Which is, specifying NAD83 for the input shape file
utilyzing Universal Translator, with an output of WGS84 in the resulting
MapInfo table.
I edited the MapInfo.prj file so that NAD83 was the second projection
listed.  That did not fix the problem.
I realize that WGS84 and NAD83 are for all practical purposes identical,
reference http://www.mentorsoftwareinc.com/resource/Nad83.htm.
However, I try to keep all of my tables in a common projection and datum,
and this feature/bug necessitates a double save to get it in the
appropriate datum.
Any work arounds out there?
