Hi Matt,
We use the HP 1050C here.
We use it for printing maps from MapInfo and engineering drawings from AutoCAD.
We print plain paper maps and mylars for our engineering drawings. Changing
the paper roll from one type of paper to the other isn't very difficult
(usually takes about 1 minute max).
Every now and then, someone will print something to it like a photograph and we
are impressed with the quality of the image. However we do this on regular
coated bond paper. Have never tried glossy.
If you are likely to print large files (we have had MapInfo maps of 40 megs), I
would recommend adding extra memory to it.
Other than that, we're happy with it.

Does anyone have any experience of using an HP Designjet 1050 with the
3-roll feeder. If so, I would welcome comments on the following:
How easy is it to load and change paper?
Does is handle glossy media well?
How much time does it take when switching between different paper sizes?
Are there any other things you wish you had known before purchase?
Thanks
Matt
