Hello all, As it turns out I had two subroutines and two variables declared globally in two different places! This will cause the MB editor to crash every time during the linking phase. First time in four years I've made such a mistake, so wasn't aware of the problem.
Secondly, and probably even more importantly........ .....just want to say thanks to the overwhelming response from the list, I have no less than 40-50 emails addressed to me privately offering help and possible resolutions!!! Also extra thanks to those who went to the trouble of sifting through my code/compiling and pointing out which subroutines/variables were causing the problem! Out of all the mailing lists I subscribe to, this one must be the most helpful one bare none! I think I better stop writing now before I get all teary-eyed and go all emotional on you. ;-) Thanks again, you're a great bunch!!! Hi all, I have a MB app made up of four modules (MBO files). Each module compiles OK. When I go to "Link Current Project", Mapbasic throws an application error and shuts down, giving the usual "Do you want to send an error report to Microsoft" message. No hint as to what went wrong. I've been finetuning this app all day and only now it does this, I can't remember exactly what I changed - lots of little things here and there. If I send you a zip of the source, can one of you helpful MB programmers out there try compiling this puppy and see if you get the same error? I'm really stumped by this one, never seen anything like it. It's urgent I get this MBX compiled as it's absence is delaying a very large project.
