Hi,

There is no such CPU usage restriction.

If the process requires a lot of disk reading/writing and you have a slow disk, then this becomes the bottleneck and you will see a lower CPU usage. I have seen such situations with <10% CPU usage, although not with straight selections - those are normally quite CPU intensive.

Can anyone in the list tell me if MapInfo/Window Xp pro has a
restrictions on CPU usage. I'm currently working a large file with is
taking over an hour to complete a selection process. When I check the
Task manager the CPU is only working at 50%. Has anyone have any reg
tweaks that improve MapInfo's access the processor and ram.
