Hi Angela Not sure but we'll see if we can help. Spatial Decisions are a distributor of HotSpot Detective (globally except for Europe and UK - InfoTech are responsible in these areas) and have printed many maps with HSD without incident.
Prior to taking on the partnership with HSD, I also had cause to use HSD as part of a Law Enforcement unit and we frequently produced and printed maps using HSD, again very successfully. (I have attached a sample of very basic HSD output for reference - removed for MI-L email copy) I'm not exactly sure I understand what you mean by "a hatched pattern" around the hotspot surface. Is this something that is visible on screen or does it only appear after printing? Are you able to send an example through as a JPG or similar file so that we gain a better understanding and can therefore try to assist. If it only appears after printing, perhaps you could scan the result and send the image through. Otherwise, can you try describing the problem in more detail for us. By the way, what version of HSD are you working with? The current version is v2.0 although my comments above about printing success apply to version of HSD from v1.3x to the current. Also, what version of MapInfo Professional and what operating system? I hope we can assist in some way.
