Hugh,

It sounds like you are doing the correct thing by using the four corner
points.

I've had this happen once or twice, and suggest the following:

I suspect that you may be entering one corner value twice and thus MapInfo
is giving the error. Examine your map X and Y that you have entered for each
point ... if they form a perfect rectangle, you should have two identical
pairs of X and Y values (but obviously different for each corner).

Alternatively, make sure that you have chosen the correct projection and
aren't trying to map UTM coords to a long/lat projection.

Hope this helps!

Bill

Subject: MI-L Registering an Image in MI 7.5

Hi,

I'm trying to register images using MapInfo 7.5.

The only co-ordinates I have are the four corner co-ordinates but MI
won't let me register the images using just these co-ordinates, it keeps
telling to choose co-ordinates that are not in a straight line.

I understand why it wants me to do this, and I can get around it by using
the gird on the map to derive others co-ordinates, but I have a lot of
images to
get through. Can turn off this setting so MI will accept just my four corner
co-ordinates?

Thanks, Hugh.
