I've run into this as well, and I think the resolution was to recreate the association simply be deleting the *.tab file associated with the Access mdb, and creating a new one. In addition, you need to check the code of your mbx. What is it doing? It may be looking for a specific number of columns, or column header and if you're adding a column, you're changing the parameters but the mbx doesn't know that.

Possibly I'm running into a limitation of MapInfo working with Access? I've only got 54 fields in total, and only 136 records. I'd really like to be able to add one more field to my table!
