I just started using UE about 3 months ago, notepad before that, mostly for
editing workspace files as I am not much of a mapbasic programmer. I
bought UE as well as UltraCompare and it is a pretty slick setup not only
for editing and spawning Mapbasic, but also for editing and checking
multiple workspace files. I used this for a set of 6 variables and 9
different zooms for Minnesota. Everything was connected. Open 2 files in
UltraCompare, and make sure that all lines were the same, (except for the
ones that were supposed to be different), a double click takes you to the
line in UE so you can edit it, save-alt tab back to UC, a right click
reloads the file and neither app locks the file so MapInfo can run the .wor
and you can see if everything is happy. A secondary benefit is that it
also helps in understanding the commands within MI.
Thanks to Bill T. and Jakob L., I accomplished the UE to MapBasic link and
Bill provided a wordfile.txt so that I had color-coded code.

Hi all,
After using ultraedit for a number of years, I finally decided to program
it up to compile directly (in my defence, my main applications have small
mapbasic programs and a large include file that is edited, so generally it
is easier to switch to mapbasic and compile).
That and I only just found Jakob Lanstorp's site which makes it
ridiculously easy (well done).
Three questions:
Can I get it to run the application using cntl U?
I can't seem to get the function listing to work properly, despite copying
the line directly from jacobs site to the word file. In one of my include
files, I get a list, but they do not relate to either functions or subs.
And is it worth upgrading from version 8 to 11? Will this fix the issue?
