It sounds as though you may have a memory (RAM) problem. I have noticed
MapInfo doesn't clear out its memory usage if you try to save a window
at too high a resolution - perhaps you are having a similar problem, my
advice would be to open task manager, go to the performance tab and
watch your PF usage whenever this occurs. If it maxes out the only way
to sove this is to buy more RAM or kill the MapInfo process each time it
stalls.

Subject: MI-L Moving lables crashes mapinfo

Hi all, very frustrated with mapinfo crashing(just being unavailable for
hours - leading to me terminating it) after I move a few labels that are
overlapping in a map window. This typically occurs when I have a raster
background image. I have learnt to turn it(the raster layer) off and
this
mostly works, after which you can turn it back on. But now it has
happened
again, despite this. Does anyone have this happen and is there a
solution.
