Thanks to all who responded to my original query regarding WMS
connection problems.

I have rectified the problem with the following steps:
in the web browser (MS Internet explorer in my case) select ; Tools /
Internet Options / Connections / LAN Settings / and check Use proxy
server for your LAN / set the address and port (you might have to check
with your IT guys for these)

Now back in MapInfo select: Options / Preferences / Web Servicer
Settings / check Use Proxy Server / select settings and set the address
and port to the same as entered in the web browser settings from above
process.

WM and WF Services should now connect in MapInfo

This was my original post:
I have been unable to connect to a WMS server since the option became
available in MI. I always get the following error message.

The following error was issued while attempting to access the WMS
Server. The operation timed out.

1.3.0
<http://wwwmapinfo.com/miwmsSERVICE=WMS&REQUEST=GetCapabilities&Version=
1.3.0> )

Unable to retrieve capabilities from the WMS Server.

Ive looked in the registry but cant find any settings where I can change
time out capabilities.
