It sounds as if you have to many temporary files in the Documents and
Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp folder.
If there are more than 9999 .tmp files in the folder, your Mapbasic\Mapinfo
application will crash, and the problem will arise every time that the number
of .tmp files exceeds 9999.
The .tmp files are queries that can either be generated manually or via
Mapbasic program.
Try Deleting the .tmp files and running your Mapbasic application again.
You will also want to add code to the Mapbasic application that will delete
the query(ies) when it is finished using it, that way you will not accumulate
these .tmp files.
