Cathy

There must be a .tab file associated with the .ecw file

If you reregister the ecw then you will lose the original .tab file and projection info in that .tab file Bad idea

Renaming the ecw file will get around the reregister issue

registration data embedded in them new one on me

Subject: [MI-L] opening ECW in mapinfo 8

Hi List

I seem to be having a problem with what seems like a simple task.  I am opening an .ecw file in mapinfo prof 8.0 and i was told that .ecw have their registration data embeded in them.  But mapinfo asks me to register it.

Has anyone experienced this problem?  If so can anyone help me solve this?

Thanks a million

:) cathy
