A client noticed something similar on a Toshiba laptop.  The same operation works fine with the same data on his desktop.  I think he is using MI 7.5, so it suggests it is an issue with Toshiba laptops?

Listers,

Can anyone suggest a remedy for this problem my co-worker is having with his laptop.

He can use MapInfo V8 (with patch) with no problem until he selects an object off the map.  If he selects 2 or more things, using shift key, then MapInfo just locks up.  CPU is used to 100% (99% of which is MapInfo).  Temp directory is empty.  Centrino Pentium processor 2GHz 512 ram. Toshiba Laptop is only 6 months old. Nvidia graphics card.  All drivers appear to be up-to-date too.

Apart from chucking it out of the window, any suggestions?  I have uninstalled and re-installed MapInfo with no effect!!

Thanks

Nick Hall
