[MI-L] Repeating bands in images on large size plots

I think Ryan is on the right track, I had a similar problem to this when plotting

using raster image Topo maps as a base layer.

A simpler solution might be to reduce the resolution of the logo, since it seems

to be the trigger for the misplot. If you are using a high res and or large jpg

of the logo reducing the size and/or resolution before importing to the layout

may solve the problem.

Hi Bill,

Perhaps I can help.

Have your client save the layout window as a .tif file and print it from

PhotoShop (the $50.00 limited version works fine for this.)  If MI Pro

fails to produce the image, one can actually tile out the image by

dividing the page size in quarters, and putting them back together again

in PS.  MI Pro v6.0 and up have limitations on the amount of pixels per

image.  They cannot exceed 9,000 X 9,000 pixels.  In my experience, with

aerial imagery as a backdrop, that's a 45" X 45" print at a more than

acceptable 200 DPI.

part way just fine, then it repeats the slice it just printed two more

times. The result is that only the first third of the image is being

but it's being repeated to the edge of the frame. MI tech support didn't

have any info on this problem but since there's over a thousand people

here on this list who work with MapInfo in a production environment

every

day, I'm hoping someone recognizes this problem and has come up with a

fix

for it.

The environment is MI Runtime 7.0, Windows XP, HP 500 DesignJet 24", and

the image is a jpeg. This problem seems to have occurred after a system

crash about an month ago. Prior to that, it worked fine.

And actually there is a workaround; if the plot is created as a PDF

file,

then that will print just fine. But since I vaguely remember seeing this

problem once before, I'd like to know what's causing it, and how to fix

it, if anyone knows.
