G'day Bill,
Sorry to hear you still have the problem.
We solved 99% of ours by switching the NVIDIA graphics card to a Matrox
Millennium P650 PCIe 128Mb.
May also be network access/traffic slowing up large files - we experience
this with statewide road networks.
Good Luck
Greg.

List folk,
I was wondering whether anyone working with MapInfo Pro (currently V8 but
also with 7.8) is experiencing similar problems as I have been for some
time.
Briefly, these actions cause MapInfo to freeze constantly such that the
platform cannot be relied upon to continue operation for more than 5 to 7
minutes at a time.
1. Move map.
2. Move label.
3. Zoom on map.
4. Move between map and layout.
5. Move between layout and map.
6. Add label.
7. Delete label.
There are others but these have been the most prevalent.
I have been down the road of cleaning out all .TMP files, closing all other
applications, re-booting, removing NVIDIA operation etc but the problem
continues daily.
If you have had these problems, or have found a cause or work-around, I
would appreciate your comments or assistance.
