Thankyou David & Ian for the response. I played with R for a while last night and after some preliminary stuffing
around with its histogram function it looks like it could work. It will be a while before the newest
version of Excel gets into my dev environment, and as a matter of policy, I don’t do betas ; ) Since my data’s coming out of SQL
Server 2005, the Business Intelligence crew across the cubicles have suggested
that I try Analysis Services. And while building a cube may seem like
overkill, it’s a good excuse to learn something new, so I might give that
