John,
See "Photogrammetric Engineering and Remote Sensing," issue of October
2000. My column on the Grids and Datums of Fiji are available in a free
downloadable pdf file from www.ASPRS.org/resources/grids.
When you get there, contact Ms. Litea Biuoko, the Senior GIS Scientist on
the island - she's quite helpful and knowledgeable. Mr. Fraank Martin is
the CIO for the SOPAC organization headquartered there with Ms. Biuoko; he
knows his stuff, too.

I will be doing some field work in Fiji and I am trying to obtain some
rasterized maps. I think the projections used for Fiji are either Viti
Levu
or WGS84; can anybody confirm this. More importantly, do any of the List
know how I register these in MapInfo. I am using MapInfo 5.5 and I cannot
see either Viti Levu or WGS84 in the list of projections. Is there a site
where I can download the files from?
This is something of a rushed job, (so what's new?), and I need this
information urgently.
Thanks,
John
