Is it possible to change the source table of a graph. I tried closing the table
and opening the new table as the name of the first but... Too simple! This
closed the graph?

Thanks everyone

Depends on the format (file format / text order) your want. MIF/MID is one way.
Or create a x and y column and update the column with center coordinates of the
point, then save the MI table as a text file......

Hi All,

What is the function by which you can create/export a table from Mapinfo with
the coordinates of all the point data on a map? Is it a function though
'Discover'?

Thank You

Karen

Karen,

You can use the mapbasic program located under MapInfo\Professional\Tools
called CoordinateExtractor.MBX

or use the CentroidX(obj) and CentroidY(obj) functions to update fields in your
table.

then go to export under the table menu.

Hello all,

I am trying to access Our oracle spatial 8i database from Mapinfo
version 8.5. I have had success via ODBC but recquire acess to polyline data.
When trying to go through the oracle spatial connection I get the below error.

Oracle Error: OCI-21560: Argument 4 is null, invalid or out of range.

When populating the Oracle Spatial OPEN DBMs connection. I use the same

Username
Passworld
and
Servername

that I used to connect via ODBC.

I am not sure if the problem

is with the Driver I am using.
the Tnsnames.ora file is not filled out properly or the necassary components on
the server are not installed or possibly something else

Anyhelp to get me on the right track is appreciated

thanks

Scott

  Hi,

I am using Mapinfo Pro 7.8 and I can't find an easy way to copy objects from
one table to another. I have a table_1 that has (non point) objects attached to
its records, and a table_2 that is unmapped. They have a common primary key. I
want to copy objects from table_1 to table_2 in a simple manner. Right now, the
easiest way I found is to join both tables, save a copy as table_3, remove
table_1 specific fields in table_3, then delete table_2 and rename table_3 as
table_2. If there are fields in table_2 that are not found in table_1, there
are a couple of extra steps necessary to retrieve unmappable records in
table_2, append them to table_3, and re-sort table_3 prior to renaming it
table_2. I believe there has to be an easier way to update objects in tables,
but I have not found one so far. Thanks for your help,

  Francois Blanc.

Hi

Gstat is one option ( http://www.gstat.org/ ) and Saga GIS another (
http://www.saga-gis.uni-goettingen.de/html/index.php )

There is a close relation between Gstat and the chapter about interpolation in
Burroughs book: Principles of Geographic Information Systems and it's fine for
small to moderate datasets, but no substitute for a commercial program for
large datasets (sidescan sonar, lidar laserscanning etc.)

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a free programme Interpolating
points using methods such as Inverse Distance Weighted, Splines, Kriging, etc.

Cheers
