Dear GIS peoples, I have a GRD file from MapInfo Vertical Mapper and
wish to display this inESRI ArcMap. I am using version 9.0 of ArcMap.I
have tried the DEM to Raster option from the ESRI ArcToolbox but it does
not
complete the processing.Has anyone had experience in this area? Thanks

If you don't have access to MapBasic or some other code writing tools
you
are pretty much stuck with doing it the way you are. Unfortunately the
column update tool does not extend to the .obj field. However when you
do
the join you don't need to include all the fields from both tables. In
your
steps you said that you were deleting the fields from Table 3 you didn't
want, just exclude these from the join and you will just have to save &
rename the resulting table.

tables,
save a copy as table_3, remove table_1 specific fields in table_3, then

table_2 that are not found in table_1, there are a couple of extra steps
necessary to >retrieve unmappable records in table_2, append them to
table_3, and re-sort table_3 prior to renaming it table_2. I believe
there
has to be an easier >way to update objects in tables, but I have not
found
one so far. Thanks for your help,
