MapInfo Corp have confirmed that there is a bug in MapInfo Pro (v5), the result of which is that Cartographic Legend windows cannot be reparented. I expect this is only of concern to developers of integrated systems. By the way, I am impressed with the speed and grace with which this problem was handled.
