There can be a number of reasons for "Set mapinfo =
CreateObject("MapInfo.Application")" command to fail,
such as the class MapInfo.Application not registered,
missing dll and not able to find the license key etc.
First check that the class MapInfo.Application is
registered in the registry by running MapInfo. If this
does not solve the problem, the best option would be to
reinstall MapInfo.
