Due to the recent spate of spam (junk mail) and complaints about same, I'm trying out a majordomo feature to stop it. The settings for who can post to MapInfo-L have been changed so that only people who have subscribed can post to the list. Also, the list of subscribers is no longer automatically open to the public. So if you try to post a message, and you are not subscribed, majordomo will send it back to you with a "non-member submission" in the subject. Also, some of you who think you are subscribed will find that your current address doesn't match the address you signed up with (usually because your systems people have changed it slightly), and majordomo will reject your messages now too (sorry, majordomo is little stupid). The way to fix this is to unsubscribe your old address and then resubscribe using your current one. Please don't send me messages to post to the list for you. However, if you need help identifying your old address or have any questions or problems, please feel free to ask me. I know this is going to be a PITA for those of you who have signed off and read MapInfo-L mail elsewhere, but I'm not sure what else I can do to keep the list clean and yet not spend hours a day personally clearing every message every day. Anyway, I'd be interested in what you think about this. If we can tolerate the infrequent but annoying spamming, I can always switch the restrictions off. - Bill Thoen MapInfo-L gatekeeper ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this list, send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and put "unsubscribe MAPINFO-L" in the message body, or contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
