There was a reference to a site here a week or two
ago. I went there and found ArcView 1.0 was still
available there. I downloaded it, but the download
goofed up and it didn't install correctly. I
thought at the time "Oh, I'll never forget that
URL." Well, I did. The site was called something
like "GIS Digital Data Source" or some longish
conglomeration of those words, or ideas or my
recollection of them. Sorry for the vagueness of
my memory.
Actually, the point is I'd like to get one of
those downloadable copies of AV 1.0 for a client
who wants a freebie viewer. I got ArcExplorer,
but you can't join maps to data using that,
whereas you can with AV 1.0. ESRI was giving away
AV 1.0 before it "upgraded" to ArcExplorer and
it's actually better in many respects (AV 1.0 is,
that is).

So, if anyone knows the site I'm looking for or
has another place to download a legal freebie copy
of Av 1.0, I'd appreciate the advise.

Disclaimer: If MapInfo had such a product
available for poor folks or just-starting-don't
want-to-make-a-big-commitment folks, I'd both the
L about that instead.

Thanks,
