Greetings! We've run into the same problem of colors and patterns not printing as they're displayed on-screen. Our embarrassingly manual workaround is to print out COLOR.TAB, which is zipped as PALLETTE.ZIP at: http://www.ctmap.com/mapinfo/files2.htm Print out one for each printer, and there you have what each possible color selection will look like printed out. Better yet - print out one for each project and mark it up with which layers are which color (so long as there aren't lots and lots) and keep it with a small printout of the final map and a printout of the first page of the .WOR file so you'll know what tables went into the workspace, and have a visual of what that project looked like. Lots of paper generated and filed, however. Sort of manual/visual metadata.
