It could be that the table is corrupted. Try packing the table first,
Table>Maintenance>Pack Table and then perform the update again. Also, try
removing the index on the fields through Table>Maintenance>Table Structure
(uncheck the index box) and re-indexing them again. There was a problem
with MapInfo versions 4.0.x and 4.1.x when the table was located on a
Novell Network and the computer was using the Novell Netware client. This
problem was resolved in version 4.5 and by using the Microsoft client
before 4.5.

Also clean out your Windows Temp folder of anything that really should not
be there (leftover temp files, msg files, etc.)

I heard there was some issues with running MapInfo w/Netware a few years
ago. If you have Netware, try moving the files locally.

Subject: MI Out of disk space problem

Hi All,

I have been attempting to edit a large polygon using objects...erase and
have been constantly getting the error "Out of disk space while trying to
edit table xyz". I suspect that it is a problem with the file rather than
the hardware (I have 96MB of ram). Has anyone else encountered this
problem
and, if so, is there a solution?

Thanks

John
