Hello,
I have developed a MapBasic application, whose sizes and positions of
windows and dialogs is based on a screen with XGA (1024 x 768) resolution.
However, a client want to use it on his notebook PC, which only supports
SVGA (800 x 600). Thus, instead of having the user to set his resolution in
a setup dialog, I'd rather determine the resolution automatically and set
some global variables to determine appropriate values for sizes and
positions.
I have scanned the MapBasic docs for any possibility to obtain the current
resolution, but could not find anything. SystemInfo and WindowInfo do not
provide this kind of information. So I suppose that I have to do that
through API function calls (?).
How does the professional MapBasic programmer community solve this common
problem ? What are the preferred methods to writing resolution-independent
applications ?
Thanks for comments in advance ... I hope that I haven't overlooked
anything, which could have obtained from the manuals.
