MapInfo,
Could you PLEASE add this to your distributed "Map window manager" tool
(MAPWIN.MBX).
This tool is used all the time and being able to name a Layout window would
be an excellent addition.
I do not have MapBasic and would love to have this ability via the tool,
instead of remembering this MapBasic statement each time.
Could the updated MBX be available of your website, instead of waiting for
the next release?

Subject: RE: MI output to plotter-Solution
You wrote
....the display on the printer queue just reads 'Layout', so
if lots
of people send numerous maps to print, one can't tell which 'layout'
is
whose. Is there anyway to give output from MI a name so that
something other
than 'layout' is displayed?
Use one line of MB code in the MapBasic window:
Set Window FrontWindow() Title "new_name"
It changes the front window name to a user specified name so
that
instead of just 'Layout' or 'Browser:Query1' or 'list-of-tables
Map', you
can call the windows anything you want.
Now when you print the layout, the new window name should
appear in
the Print Queue.
(I implemented that as a small change in the MB code for the
Map
Window Manager (MapWin.mbx) prog that came with MapBasic so that any
type of
windows could be changed, not just a Map window.)
