Hello Laura, > I'm hoping to attend the Mapworld conference in Florida in May and was > wondering if any other list users have attended these conferences in the > past and found them imformative. I've been to three MapWorlds in the past four years and I'd say it's a pretty good conference. Like most events, the more you put into it, the more you get out. Careful selection of the concurrent sessions is essential, as is enjoying oneself. The thing I like most about it is meeting people from all over the world who are using MapInfo in such contrasting ways. Not only can the sessions educate, but new friends can inspire - no matter what level of expertise one has. My main grumble would be that some years (although last year was better), the conference materials are 90% separator and note pages. It's amazing how much baggage weight one can shed at the airport going home if your brutal with the paperwork. Oh yeah... and they don't make baseball caps big enough for me either. :-) Hope you and other -L'ers can make it.
