It is possible to get topology manager totally separate from Spatialware.
I know it is a product that MapInfo has been atttempting to bundle with SW,
it makes sense since topology becomes of even greater importance when
dealing with spatial components inside a RDBMS. I may have to disagree with
Sam here on the robustness if the product....
One of the questions that I asked at the MapInfo Developer Workshops in New
Orleans last year was relating to the error reporting of TM. From what I
understand, TM does not do a good job of reporting back where your
errors(dangles, undershoot, pseudonodes, etc.) are. To me that means that I
may have to still do a fair amount of manual QC. The interface that I saw
was DOS based and was a completely separate app from the other MapInfo
products.

Serge,
Topology Manager is an app that's now part of SpatialWare. SpatialWare can
reside in or alongside Oracle, Informix, DB2 to enable them to handle
geographic data. Topology Manager is a very robust tool for building and/or
repairing topology.
