Recently, we started testing MapInfo 5.0. It appears to be problem-free except for opening an excel file. We currently have Microsoft Excel 97 with the SR-2 release package. When we open a standard Excel file saved as Microsoft Excel Workbook (*.xls) the last character in each column is deleted (or not visible) from the Excel file. Is anyone else having this problem? Currently we have a workaround by saving the Excel file as Microsoft Excel 97 & 5.0/95 Workbook (*.xls). Does anyone know why the character deletion occurs? Is there a solution?
