Hi

I am surprised the recent announcement in the MI web site did not generate
some response from those dissatisfied with MI print output

Not quite the answer that improved 'save window as' options would allow but
MI have now done a deal and have purchased technology allowing a RIP
facility to vastly improve the present some what lacklustre print facility,
very welcome but I suspect is either a feature of v5.5 or 6 or an optional
extra for all 'pro' users. In the meantime the answer is modules like
map-publisher from Avenza ( who are unlikely to miss this opportunity to
remind us they are still there :-) ). Although I have had considerable
success using ps drivers but I have only done much of this on the mac which
seems to cope with such challenges

ps noting recent comments about MI and the PC

MapInfo are reading this...we are buying macs....shock horror the imac is
going to be replacing some elements of our Compaq fleet. Of course these
new machines will not now not be running MI and we may reduce our original
intention of putting mapping on every desktop due to the lack of suitable
software, those with MI stock need not worry yet the loss to MI Corp will
not be significant but our savings look to be worthwhile over the general
spread of our activities.
