As an addition to respondents who have mentioned the use objectgeography() to query 
MBR 
coordinates, make sure you PACK your table before doing the MBR queries. When editing 
objects 
in MapInfo, MBRs always grow and need to be packed before you get the tightest MBRs 
again.
