I've had some problem too with labels in layout. In the layout, I have
labels that overlap, but they show fine in the mapper ( at print out scale).
I have many frames in the layout, some are fine (no overlap), some are not.
The solution is to go back to the mapper, pan a little, change the scale and
come back to the original scale. Then the labels show fine. I can't explain
why, but it works. Sadly, I have 70 frames to check every times I want to
reprint the layout.
I use MI Pro 5.0 on Win95.
