All the data for a shape coverage is in the associated *.dbf
file. This is a dBASE file which MapInfo can open directly. Then
you can join the data to the graphics on RowId. One thing to
watch out for though. In the evaluation version I tried (just
before the Geographic Explorer became shareware) the conversion
from shape to MapInfo tab rounded off the precision a lot, and
the result looked like everything was snapped to a very small
grid (zoom in close and you'll see). However, the conversion to
MIF was perfect. This may have been corrected; I haven't had time
to check the newest release.
