Another rather important feature of the proper social usage of "pom" or
"pommie" is that if you are in a bar an accuse someone of being a "pom" or
"pommy" and you say it with a smile, the accusation given with a smile is
no excuse for a fight by law in Queensland. Without the necessary smile you
may attact your non-pommy mate. Essentially pommys may insult pommys but
Aussies may only do so if they smile.
