I'm Having a couple of converting data from a Power PC (OS8.5)running
MapInfo 4.0 and a Windows 98 machine running Mapinfo 4.1. Supposedly this
should be a faily simple process, however there are complications going both
ways.
When I transfer a file from the Power PC (OS8.5) to a Windows machine the
".DATA" extension prevents MapInfo 4.1 loading it properly. If I delete the
last "A" leaving the normal 3 character ".DAT" extension it works. Is there
any shortcut to this labourious and tedious process?
Tables load directly going from Windows to Power PC. however a lot of the
data in the tables ends up scrambled or spurious. Has anyone else had this
problem ? Any ideas?
