The work-around that I use is to edit the startup.wor in the Windows
directory by adding the applications that I use to the list.
Applications that have an auto-load button in the 'About..." section
will automatically stay there if you select that function. Others have to
be added to the startup.wor file by adding this line somewhere in the list
of apps to open :
Run Application "C:\Program Files\mapinfo\TOOLS\Scalebar.mbx" (or
whatever the filename is).
This will automatically load any prog you want at startup, and then
you don't have to deal with that Tools Mangler any more.
