On page 515 of the reference guide I notice MapInfo has a datum
called "Provisional South American 1956" (datum number 82) ........
I think it can be done by creating a new entry in the .prj file as follows:
"--- Universal Transverse Mercator (SAD 56) ---"
"UTM Zone 18, Southern Hemisphere (SAD 56)", 8, 82, 7, -75, 0,
0.9996, 500000, 10000000"
... where the only change we are making to the existing entry for
SAD69 is the datum being used. (82 instead of 92).
