Following Matt's question (below) regarding documentation of GeoReg.MBX, I
am also wondering if there is some documentation on the MBX tools supplied
with MapInfo. I have scanned the PDF documentation, but there is nothing
about these except a brief discription of tools in the tool manger. And why
are tools like GeoReg not part of the Tool Manager - they're hidden away?

Thanks very much Chris. That looks like the thing I was looking for and it
was already under my nose. Is there any such thing as documentation on the
other misc tools in that folder?

Sorry, the MBX actually comes with MapInfo. It's called GeoReg.MBX. I don't
think it shows up in the Tool Manager, but should be in the tools folder of
your MapInfo install.

**Clarify the Question

Chris:
That mbx is not on http://www.ctmap.com/mapinfo/files1.htm or the page 2 -
that I can locate anyway- who was that written by?

Hi Matt,

Here's some suggestions for the info you're after.

1. Depending on the systems your running, we have found that 5-10MB is the
largest file you can reasonably use in MapInfo. This gives a couple of
seconds delay which is acceptable. You'll probably need to do some trial and
error on your system, but this might be a starting point.
2. There is an application which will create TAB files from GeoTiff files. I
believe the person who makes this has already replied to your previous
e-mail. I think the MBX might be on Bill Thoen's FTP site.
3. Pitfalls: make sure when you test the application, its through the
slowest possible link. No-one will wait 2 minutes for a screan to appear....

                Good luck
