Could anyone help me figure out which MapInfo
functionality I should use to do simple polygon overlay in MapInfo. I want to
start with a set of regions (one polygon per region) and union it with another
set of regions (one polygon per region) so that the result is a set of smaller
resultant regions (one polygon per region) that contain the attributes of each
of the original polygons. Simple, classic, polygon overlay. The closest that I
have come is using the Objects split statement, but this requires that both sets
of regions must be in the same table and it is unclear how the resultant
polygons will have the proper combination of the original attributes. Also, it
tends to group new polygons it creates into regions, which of course is
completely opposite to what my intent is, to create a set of polygons all of
which have different attributes.
