Hi everyone,
I have found that MapInfo can be extremely slow
at times doing intensive operations like creating buffer objects around larger
complex sets of regions. I am running on a Intel P233 with 32Mb of RAM. I have
compared to Arc/Info and a similar operation using Arc/Info took less than 2
minutes, while MapInfo executed for 45 minutes. I assume that it is due to
extremely in-efficient coding on the part of the MapInfo developers. Does anyone
have any ideas? Unless I figure out what is up, I will either have to give up on
MapInfo or buy a P500 to run it on.
