Well, I just committed a great deal of corporate cash to attend MapWorld
'99 since it is within driving distance again this year. About this time
two years ago, I facilitated the first MapInfo-L compiled, sorted and
prioritized list of fixes and enhancements. This list was personally
delivered to MapInfo executives and we even had a small "focus group"
session with key users and developers. The result was that in the next
interim release of MapInfo Pro, many of the top 20 items on the wish list
were addressed.
The task took a non-trivial amount of time last year to compile the
requests, edit them, format & sort them, then run the survey for everyone
to prioritize the list. MapInfo was most impressed that the wish list was
"voted on." That fact showed them how many people were voicing opinions on
the software, as well as the obvious selection of what emphasis to place on
each one.
Before I tackle the job again this year, I would like to know how many
people will participate in the _ranking_ process.
PLEASE SEND ME A *** PRIVATE *** REPLY IF YOU WOULD PARTICIPATE IN THE WISH
LIST SURVEY. I know everyone will send in their comments and suggestions,
but we really need people to help with the evaluation. It will be an HTML
form like in '97, where you choose categories from "Need Urgently" through
"Don't Want It" and submit the answers.
