This problem with the custom polyline tool is a dirty rotten bug,
and has been put on the hit list by MapInfo as undocumented
feature #8630.
You caught a good one there. As subtle as an iceberg floating
into a shipping lane. Just thought you'd like to know that it's
in the pipeline to be fixed.
