You must find out the source of the symbols- are they from a special font
set? Was is there a bit of software involved in their placement? If you
cant do this then you could find out what type of geological symbol the
codes represent and use one of the several fontset/software options
available for placing geological symbols in MapInfo based on a dataset.

I know that there are special geological symbolsets for use in autocad. You
might start there.
