Hi all,
This notice about world datasets just made me want to point out a couple
of related data sources;
We purchased a Digital Chart of the World (DCW) data CD from Cerro Verde
Geotech called CVGMAP through Bill Thoen. It was about $300 I think (I
don't remember exactly), and it gets you all DCW in MID/MIF with a
little extracting. Quite handy.
In the meantime, http:/www.gisdatadepot.com has arrived and you can
download lots of DCW stuff as ArcExport files under the various country
links. This can be quite handy, especially in terms of country
political boundaries as polygons instead of polylines (CVGMAP gives
polylines which require a lot of manual manipulating to clean and
polygonize).
I just thought I'd point these out.

P.S. Sorry this isn't really about time zones anymore, but it was
leading in the general DCW direction.
