I know you all are very technical people so I'm trying to word this so I am
clear on what my problem is because I am NOT technical:
I use MI to show sites where Blue Cross has Check Up Centers. I have a
database in Access that I have imported - it contains names, counties (Calif
only), addresses etc. of our Check Up Centers. I managed to segregate a map
of Calif from the MI United States map, then opened up a table of California
counties and geocoded my database so my sites show up on my Calif map. Simple
to you guys, very big deal for this beginner type user. Okay, did that, now
they want me to split up Calif into specific regions which include specific
counties and include a little inset map of all of California. Managed to
fumble through and accomplish that. Now the turkeys want me to shade in the
regions in the little Calif inset map that represent the specific region. So,
for example, my layout has my northern Calif regional map and then the little
complete Calif inset map, a legend, and a table identifying what the sites are.
Among the browsers open is the entire calif county browser - I want to change
one of the columns so I can use it to make my entire calif inset map a
thematic map (which is how I'm figuring to shade in the areas they want). How
can I save this table without altering the original Calif county table? There
is no 'save table as' function and the last time I changed anything in that
table I ended up saving it somehow and screwing up the table.
I basically don't have a good handle on HOW MapInfo works which is my biggest
problem. It is so different from the standard office type products.
Can anyone help me with very simple type answers? Like 3rd grade?
