I suggested this idea at last year's partner conference (as well as in years
past). Prior to last year, the answer had always been that it would require a
general re-architecting of the whole system. Last year, however, the response
was much more positive. It seems that MapInfo is now re-architecting MI Pro to
be more OLE friendly. (If my guess is correct, they are moving from C to C++
and "compentizing" the system into COM objects.) I've heard rumblings of
offering VBScript along with MapBasic which would allow for using ActiveX
controls in MapInfo. Perhaps this will open the door for an OLE client Layout
window???
