Hi Mal!
Here are three tricks to help you.

First, check settings for Maps. Look for *moving duplicate nodes in the
same layer* and check that option.
Now, if the nodes are truly duplicate = share the exact coordinates,
moving one node will drag along the adjacent nodes.

Second, if you want to move multiple nodes = a segment of the boundary,
select the region object and switch on node editing. Select the first
node in the stretch, then shift-click the last one and all nodes in
between will be selected. Shift-click picks them out counterclockwise,
and ctrl-click clockwise. Then point on one of the nodes, and
click-hold-drag the group to its new location. The selected nodes will
retain their relative shape but be rubberbanded to the rest of the
object.

Third, when digitizing, be sure to turn on SNAP. If you want to
perfectly align one boundary to another, snap-click to where they join
when digitizing the new object. Then shift-click or ctrl-klick
(depending on wanted direction) at where they part, and the points in
between will be copied to the new object. You can copy along lines as
well, but you can only copy nodes from one object at a time. If you look
carefully, the thin grey drawing line will show the final result.

Hope this helps and
best regards, Mats.E
