Rachel,
Can't you export/import each Mapinfo table to a different Autocad layer
then re-order the layers in Autocad ?
Layer 0 is Autocad's default layer. Try creating a number of different
layers (Layer-Make).
Import your Mapinfo data (which will land on layer 0), select it, then
Change-Properties-Layer, moving it to one of your new layers.
You'll be able to build up a similar layer structure to Mapinfo's.
This works in Autocad R12, the commands may be slightly different in R14
but the concept remains the same.
